The task force on 9/11 and After is sponsoring a "Teach-In" on
Wednesday, Oct. 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m., in the Commons of the Woods-Penniman
Bldg. titled "Reactions to Violence: What is the appropriate
response to terrorism?"
Three presenters will each speak for approximately 20 minutes,
followed by extended discussion. Elaine Maust, a Mennonite pastor
who is visiting Berea as the first annual speaker in Campus Ministry's
Snyder Peace Initiative, will address alternatives to violence;
Caryn Vazzana, assistant professor of Economics at Berea, will
talk on the concept of a just war, and Stephen Pulsford, assistant
professor of general studies, will discuss the latest developments.
Dinner will be provided to all "Teach-In" participants.
