John Bolin, dean of the faculty at Berea College, announced the promotion of seven faculty members and the granting of tenure to four others. The actions were approved at the recent meeting of the Berea College Board of Trustees.

Promoted to full professor were Janice Blythe, child and family studies
department, and Pamela Farley, nursing department. Jay Baltisberger, chemistry department; Megan Hoffman, biology department; Verlaine McDonald, English and theatre department and Ann Solberg, music department, were promoted to the rank of associate professor. Eileen Hart, Hutchins Library, was promoted to assistant professor.

Faculty members granted tenure were McDonald; James Lynch, assistant professor of mathematics; Janice Pearce, assistant professor of mathematics, and Claire Schuster, assistant professor of nursing.
