Dr. Kandice Queen-Sutherland, Professor of Religious Studies
at Stetson University will be the speaker at the Sunday morning
Baccalaureate Service, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Phelps

Dr. Kandy Queen-Sutherland is Professor of Religious Studies
at Stetson University, DeLand, Florida. She is an ordained
minister, having served as pastor of Port Royal Baptist Church
in Henry County, Kentucky. Her education includes a B.S. in
Special Education from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South
Carolina; a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctor of Philosophy
degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville,
Kentucky; post-doctoral studies at the University of Zurich,
Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Queen-Sutherland also served as Visiting
Research Scholar at The Divinity School, Vanderbilt University,
Nashville, Tennessee. Prior to her present position at Stetson
University, Dr. Queen-Sutherland was Associate Professor of
Old Testament at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Ruschlikon,
Switzerland. In this role she contributed widely to theological
education throughout Europe. Her numerous publications and
presentations center around the areas of Old Testament interpretation,
Homiletics, and Women in Religion.
