"Berea Visits Ghana's Arts and Culture," a presentation
by Berea College faculty members Dr. Kathy Bullock and Dr. Keila
Thomas, will be the focus of the next Berea Forum. Scheduled for
Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m., the program will take place in the
Activities Room of the Berea College Alumni Building.
Bullock, an associate professor of music and Thomas, a member
of the child and family studies faculty, took a group of students
to Ghana in June to explore the country's arts and culture. The
multi-media presentation will include music, art and photographs,
highlighting the sights, sounds and experiences of a trip filled
with contrasts --from modern cities to remote villages, from laptop
computers to ancient arts.
On Tuesday, Dec. 5, Berea Forum will end the fall semester with
a Christmas program. Featuring a performance by the Berea College
Women's Chorus, directed by Gale Heard, the program will take place
in the Alumni Building Activities Room.
The Berea Forum is free and open to the public and meets the second
Tuesday of every month (unless otherwise noted), from 4-5 p.m.
Programs are planned by a committee of retired persons in the community,
with assistance from the Berea College Office of Special Programs.
Parking is available in the lower lot behind the Alumni Building
and the lot behind Boone Tavern, in addition to nearby on-street
parking. For additional information, contact Sherry Bosch at (859)
985-3552.
