Holli E. Hudson has been appointed director of wellness services
at Berea College. She assumed her new position June 1.
Working with a variety of campus departments, Hudson will
develop and oversee a comprehensive wellness program for students,
faculty and staff. She also will provide coordination and supervision
for campus recreational activities related to wellness and
will teach courses in the Health and Physical Education department.
Hudson has 10 years of health-related experience in higher
education. Prior to joining Berea's staff, she was health and
safety specialist at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln
for two years, responsible for a comprehensive health and safety
promotion program for more than 11,000 University employees.
She also taught in the University's Health and Human Performance
department.
From 1994-96, Hudson was director of the substance abuse program
at Graceland (Iowa) College, and also was head women's soccer
coach there. She has taught courses at the University of Utah
in human sexuality and reproduction, healthy lifestyles and
stress management and has served as coordinator of the campus
wellness center at Eastern Kentucky University.
A 1989 graduate of Berea College with a B.A. in physical education,
Hudson holds a masters of education degree from Eastern Kentucky
University. She currently is completing requirements for a
Ph.D. in health education at the University of Nebraska at
Lincoln.
