The promotion of two staff members in Berea College's business
and finance departments was announced by Jeffrey Eisenbarth,
vice president for business and administration.
Jeffrey Amburgey has been named assistant vice president/controller.
Amburgey joined Berea in 1994 as associate controller and has
served as controller since 1997. Amburgey holds a B.B.A. in
accounting from Eastern Kentucky University and a M.S. in accounting
from the University of Kentucky.
Barry D. Poynter has been named
director of trust and investment administration. He has served
as associate controller with
responsibilities in the trust and administration area since
1997. In 1995, Poynter was named purchasing manager for the
College after serving for eight years as business manager for
the College's Boone Tavern Hotel. A 1988 graduate of Berea
with a B.S. in business administration, Poynter also holds
a M.B.A. from Eastern Kentucky University. A Madison County
native, he is the son of Laney and Betty Poynter of Berea.
The appointments, which reflect expanded responsibilities
in Amburgey's and Poynter's current positions, were effective
June 1.
