Diane Kerby, director of Facilities Management at Berea College,
has been promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President for
Business and Administration.
She will assume her new duties upon the hiring of her replacement
in Facilities Management, but no later than July 1.
The newly restructured administrative position was established
following the retirement of Internal Auditor Karl Struss in December.
Kerby is a 1975 graduate of Berea and holds degrees in business and
child and family studies from the College. She joined the Berea staff
in 1975 as a member of the Physical Plant, now Facilities Management,
and held several supervisory and administrative positions before being
named associate director in 1981 and director in 1985. She has held
several leadership positions in APPA: The Association of Higher
Education Facilities Officers, including serving as president in
1993-94. In 1995, she-was honored with the international
organization's Meritorious Service Award.
Kerby is married to Dr. Clifford Kerby, physician and mayor of
Berea. The recruitment for a new Director of Facilities Management will
begin immediately.
