Becoming an Approved Driver

To become a college approved driver, faculty, staff, students, and volunteers must complete a driver authorization form and return the completed form to Motor Pool in the Public Safety office or at CPO 2184. Driver authorization forms should be returned at least a week before being scheduled to drive. Driver authorization approval is the only requirement for students, faculty, and staff over the age of 26.

Drivers under the age of 26, must additionally complete the defensive driver course. Courses are scheduled throughout the semester by Officer Ron Deaver. Defensive driving consists of three classes and an additional van class is required for 12 passenger vans. Drivers should also consider the time requirements of defensive driving before being scheduled to drive.
