Berea College is seeking several responsible individuals to serve the College community in the following roles in our state of the art child care center:
  • Teaching Assistants – full time with benefits – Toddler and preschool classrooms
  • Substitute Teachers – temporary positions – on call as needed
 
Responsibilities:
Teaching Assistants: this position requires a responsible individual who, in cooperation with, or in the absence of the teacher, will manage classroom activities. Duties include assisting in the development of curriculum units and supervision of student workers.

Substitute Teachers: Candidates who are capable of providing a nurturing learning environment for our children and those with superior teaching abilities are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability to manage a classroom and plan and implement learning activities. Candidates for these positions must have flexibility in their schedules, as these positions are “on call” positions.
 
Qualifications:
Applicants for the Teacher Assistant and Substitute positions should possess a C.D.A., High School Diploma or GED and two years of related work experience. An undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred. All applicants should be capable of providing a nurturing, learning environment for our children.
