Berea College is currently recruiting for a new, full time position for the GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) program. GEAR UP is a federally funded outreach program serving students and schools in Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, and Rockcastle counties.
 
Responsibilities:
This new position has been created to provide GEAR UP staff with assistance in the oversight and reporting of grant funds and expenditures. This position will be responsible for a variety of duties including the following: management of grant files; maintenance of client files for grant programs; serve as a liaison with schools, partners and clients to obtain accurate client records; assist with the data collection required for numerous federal reports; develop and disseminate quality monthly newsletters to program participants and will provide logistical support to programs including the planning of meetings, events and travel.
 
Qualifications:
Applicants interested in this position should have the following: a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; demonstrated proficiency in Word, Photoshop, Excel and PowerPoint (Banner experience would be extremely helpful); excellent communication skills and the ability to translate end user questions and needs into accurate reports; strong organizational skills; excellent math skills; the ability to demonstrate effective decision-making and the ability to work with detailed accuracy. This position must be able to work on an independent basis as well as in a team setting and candidates must be capable of working in a positive and professional manner.
