| Berea College has an opening for a full-time Electrician in the Facilities Management Department to provide maintenance as part of a Zone Maintenance Team with a primary emphasis on maintenance and repair of electrical systems. |

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following: knowledge of the principles and techniques used in both troubleshooting and new installation of electrical circuits; ability to safely use all types of power tools, machinery and scaffolds; ability to lead and communicate with others involved with campus maintenance; general knowledge of plumbing and electrical principles and techniques; ability to follow oral and written instructions. Additionally, the individual must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as plans, blueprints and drawings, and a working knowledge of the N.E.C. This position may be exposed to noise and noxious fumes with required personal protective equipment, hazards of sharp tools and running machinery, and extreme temperature and weather conditions; and may work in confined spaces. |

Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will have a high school diploma; two years of college or similar training in related field or electrical certification preferred; minimum of five years related experience and demonstrated competence as an electrician; a diploma or certificate from a recognized trade or vocational school, at high school level or higher with a major in the electrical trade specified above may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience; a valid driver's license; electrical journeyman license preferred; ability to operate aerial platforms, fork lift, power tools, computer, cars and trucks; ability to do manual labor and lift 50 pounds. |
