Berea College staff members employed in benefit-eligible positions are provided certain paid holidays throughout the year. (Temporary, emergency or seasonal employees are not eligible for paid holidays.)
Please note that due to the fall semester schedule, the Labor Day holiday is designated for use on December 24, 2009, at the beginning of the Christmas break schedule. To be eligible for this holiday, an employee must be employed by the College prior to September 7, 2009.
Additionally, employees required to work on a holiday due to the business needs of the College will receive holiday compensatory time. This time should be used within the same pay period as it is earned.
