Sabbatical Replacement in Sociology
Berea College announces a full-time temporary position in Sociology beginning January, 2013, and continuing for the 2013-14 academic year. The courses needed for Spring Term 2013 are sociology theory, juvenile delinquency, and introductory sociology. For Fall Term 2013, courses needed are methods, introductory sociology, and stratification; and for Spring 2014, courses needed are crime and deviance, social problems, and an optional sociology elective. A Ph.D. is preferred, though advanced graduate students will be considered, and successful candidates will have demonstrated good classroom teaching and knowledge of progressive pedagogies. We seek applicants with a commitment to social justice and racial and cultural diversity.
Applicants should submit a letter of application that includes a teaching statement, curriculum vita, transcripts (unofficial acceptable for application), three reference letters, evidence of good undergraduate teaching, and sample course syllabi.
