Intro:

We are currently recruiting for a Residence Life Coordinator to serve as a member of the Berea College’s Collegium team. The Residence Life program has adopted a philosophy of Guided Learning to facilitate a healthy residentially-based environment that advocates interactive student-centered growth through learning, labor and service.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this live-in position will include, but is not limited to, providing educational leadership for 1-2 residence halls (120-190 students); training and supervising 8-15 student hall staff; and holding primary responsibility for an administrative function within the department. Specifically, it is desired that the position will assist with the facilitation of the campus judicial process. A willingness to work in a dynamic team environment and collaborate with other departments is expected. Other duties include participation in an on-duty rotation, and the development and maintenance of a positive environment conducive for living and learning. Work hours are flexible and include some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years experience in Student Affairs is required; Master’s degree in College Student Personnel or related field is preferred, as is live-in experience. Good communication and organizational skills are essential. Experience in programming and technology initiatives is preferred. The successful candidate must have a desire to work closely with students, and demonstrate a professional capacity for flexibility and adaptability.
