Intro:
As part of the Promise Neighborhood Grant awarded to Berea College, several new positions have been created to support the young people of several rural Kentucky counties. We are currently recruiting for two full-time positions.
Responsibilities:
The Recovery Coaches will be located at the Judicial Center in Jackson County, Kentucky and will work closely with the family court judge to provide services to families with prescription drug abuse factors. These positions will work with the parent, child welfare caseworker and substance-abuse treatment agencies to: remove barriers to treatment; engage the parent in treatment; provide outreach to re-engage the parent if necessary; and provide ongoing support to families through the duration of the case. These positions will also assist the parent in obtaining benefits and in meeting the responsibilities and mandates related to the parents’ court cases and recovery treatment plans.
