As part of the Promise Neighborhood Grant awarded to Berea College, several new positions have been created to support the young people of several rural Kentucky counties. We are currently recruiting for

Responsibilities:

The Intervention Specialists will work in one of three Promise Neighborhood community offices or in a local school in Clay, Jackson or Owsley Counties and will be expected to work approximately one-half of their time on domestic violence prevention issues for middle and high school students through the STEP program; the other one-half of their time will be spent on issues relating to safety and community well-being for elementary students. Staff members in these roles will work with elementary, middle and high school students, community agencies and local Promise Neighborhood staff to coordinate and implement prevention programming for students and the local community on teen dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, bullying, substance abuse and/or other identified community/student safety issues. Intervention Specialists will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, coordinating services to students, assisting teachers, leading workshops and facilitating communications.
