Intro:
Berea College is seeking a mid-level gift officer to cultivate, solicit and steward alumni and friend donors, building effective relationships to secure unrestricted, capital and planned gifts (including bequest intents) in support of the College’s funding priorities. Berea enjoys the support of a diverse national constituency engaged by the College’s distinctive mission. Candidates who enjoy working with people in support of Berea’s mission and operating under a clear set of measurable expectations and outcomes will find satisfaction in this work. Significant travel is required.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of soliciting and closing gifts, possess mature judgment, confidence, persistence, excellent organizational and communication (verbal, written and listening) skills, and a strong belief in the mission of Berea College.
Qualifications:
Frontline development experience is strongly preferred, but significant transferable experience such as high level sales may be considered. Driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a personal vehicle are required. A B.A. or B.S. degree is required for consideration.
