Associate Director, Early Childhood – Promise Neighborhood

Intro:
Berea College is currently recruiting for a key full-time position with the Promise Neighborhood Initiative. Reporting to the Program Director, the ADECE works closely with the Promise Neighborhood school districts, the Independent Evaluator and data contractor, 7 Academic Specialists, Early Childhood and other departmental staff, to design and implement the Promise Neighborhood activities and services aimed at children and families from birth through kindergarten entry.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Associate Director, Early Childhood include the following: working closely with the Promise Neighborhood early childhood programs and to ensure early childhood services are delivered; working closely with Academic Specialists, school districts, the Independent Evaluator and data contractor, to implement an Early Warning System, coordinating closely with other departmental programs; ensuring timely collection and analysis of data and dissemination of results; informing Project Director, Academics on feedback received from quantitative and qualitative data gathered on program activities; staffing a Working Group on Early Childhood that will be adjunct to the Promise Neighborhood Management Board; and planning and implementing adjustments to services and activities as called for by ongoing assessment results.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for this position include a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or equivalent through substantial experience; seven to ten years experience in the fields of early childhood or elementary education, three to five years experience with supervision of other staff. The successful candidate for this position will have the following skills: skills in early childhood curriculum and activities to encourage school-readiness, including work with parents of children birth to age five; knowledge of Kentucky’s elementary school standards; skills in elementary school instruction, including curriculum development; knowledge of and experience working with at-risk populations.
