Intro:
The College is recruiting for a newly created HR management role within the Office of People Services.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Director will assist in providing strategic leadership in the planning, development and implementation of human resource programs and services, establishing a Berea model for best practices in HR management in higher education. This position will provide campus-wide leadership in recruitment strategies for staff and faculty with a focus on diversity recruitment. This new position will provide critical management continuity as the current Director has announced her intended retirement for the summer of 2013.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should have a broad human resources knowledge base as well as the following: a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration or related field; a minimum of 3-5 years experience in an exempt level HR position, at least 2 years of which should be in a supervisory role; mastery of the many concepts and principles central to human resources management; thoughtful and sound judgment capabilities; strong interpersonal, group process and facilitation skills; strong writing and computer skills (proficiency in the following software: Excel, Word, and HRIS software); SPHR or PHR certification is preferred.
