| The Carter G. Woodson Center for Interracial Education at Berea College offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide support services to the Center and the many students served by the Center. This is a full time position with some evening and weekend work required.

Responsibilities:Responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include the following: management of the general office including bookkeeping and confidential records; support and clerical services for the operations of the Center as well as the operation of the Black Cultural Center; provide support for the Program Coordinator of the African and African American Studies Program; supervision of 2-10 student workers; performance of complex tasks in a multi-task environment; assist in the coordination of on-campus educational programming to educate students concerning interracial education. |

Qualifications:The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications: 1-2 years of demonstrated work experience in a responsible position; Bachelor’s Degree required, however, quantifiable and substantial work experience may be substituted for the degree; superior skills in written and verbal communication; excellent organizational and accounting skills; superior computer skills (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel); capacity to serve as a mentor to students and co-workers; ability to work positively and collaboratively with others; possess excellent problem-solving skills; and the sincere desire to work closely with young adults from diverse backgrounds. |
