Intro:

An outstanding full time position for an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide support services to the Office of Alumni Relations at Berea College is currently under recruitment.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include the following: supports the departmental budget, by fulfilling check requests, reviewing expense reports, completing all required reporting, and keeping staff abreast of new financial policies and procedures; coordinates the student labor program including assignment of work and reporting of time; provides support for projects/functions of the Alumni Director, including organizing meetings and managing calendar; facilitates communication of information with internal and external stakeholders; provides administrative support for special events and programs such as reunions and regional club program; under the direction of unit leadership (Director of Alumni) provides administrative support to the Alumni Executive Council; serves as point person for office, computer and building issues; maintains, updates, and orders annual awards, recognition gifts, and office plaques; provides updates of alumni information in Banner as needed, as well as, compiles, composes and edits Class Notes section of the Berea College magazine.

 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications: Associate’s Degree required; B.A. or B.S. preferred; three or more years of successful secretarial experience in a professional office setting where responsibilities included data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, managing correspondence, filing and bookkeeping/accounting; computer competency using Microsoft Word and Excel, Banner experience preferred; ability to maintain high level of confidentiality; ability to manage, prioritize and take responsibility for several projects at a time, working well under pressure to meet deadlines; must be organized, have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate ability to work both independently and as a part of a team; must have professional manner in working with alumni, students, staff and faculty and enjoy supervising/mentoring students.
