Achievement Counselor, A4KY Program (Clay County)

Intro:
Berea College is currently recruiting a full-time position in Clay County for an Achievement Counselor in the A4KY Program. Reporting to the Associate Director, A4KY the Achievement Counselor will work to provide college and career awareness information to students and parents to support rigorous course taking.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Achievement Counselor include the following: ensuring participants and community members have training opportunities selected to meet their specific needs; working closely with partners and stakeholders of the program, including school staff, parents, business people, elected officials and community members; conducting training sessions and working with selected participants one-on-one; gathering pre- and –post training session data for program modifications; coordinating with staff and partners to ensure that all tasks are being completed in a timely manner, according to scope of work and within budget; connecting with all partners regularly to ensure that the entire program is running seamlessly and the Berea College is meeting all requirements; ensuring that adequate documentation and records are collected; analyzing information and data to measure progress and program effectiveness; modifying planning process as necessary based on data; filing required reports and ensuring compliance with guidelines.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling or a related field is required, with a master’s degree preferred; high expectation for all students; experience with tutoring students in academic contents is required. The successful candidate for this position will have the following skills: Understanding of the skills and academic levels needed to be college ready and a belief that all students can be college ready.
