Intro:

Berea College is currently recruiting for an individual to serve as the Director of Health and Wellness.

Responsibilities:

The Director will oversee the implementation and evaluation of all campus wellness and assessment programming. The Director will also work closely with numerous key areas on campus to provide a wellness programming plan for all populations of the campus community (students, staff, and faculty) and to provide health seminars and counseling to individuals and groups. The Director will also work in close partnership with an on-campus Wellness Board comprised of faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have the following: Master’s degree required. Degree(s) in Health, Exercise Science or relevant field with a minimum of 3-5 years of wellness programming experience in a health or wellness related setting; experience working with adults of all ages in individual and group settings to educate and implement wellness programming including health habits and exercise plans and programs. All applicants must have knowledge about healthy lifestyles and the particular health issues common to the Appalachian region, and the ability to deliver oral presentations and demonstrate exercise training (and workout) programs. C.H.E.S. (Certified Health Education Specialist), Work-Site Wellness Certification, CPR and First Aid Certifications are required.
