Intro:
The Admissions Team at Berea College is seeking a motivated and energetic professional to assist in the day to day operations of the Admissions Department. This is a three year grant-funded position.
Responsibilities:
This position requires an individual with the ability to be effective in achieving the high performance goals set by the Team in its quest for qualified new students. With the responsibility for identifying and recruiting superior candidates for admission to Berea College, candidates must have both the capacity for commitment to our mission and the ability to convey it to others. The Admissions Counselor will be assigned a recruitment territory and is responsible for developing and maintaining the College’s association in that territory with people who work with the youth of the region and for counseling prospective students and their families about their college plans and how Berea College might fit into those plans.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have the following: a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; experience with high schools students is preferred but not required. All applicants must possess a high energy level, be available for frequent travel within the region (valid driver’s license required), possess demonstrated computer proficiency and have the interpersonal and organizational skills that lend themselves well to a recruiting environment. A genuine customer service approach to work; outstanding communication and public speaking skills; be goal oriented and have the ability to analyze relevant data provided to assist in meeting the recruitment goals set by the team. Applicants must have the ability to drive long distances and stand for several hours at a time and ability to carry/transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
