About
Eighteen
members of the Concert Choir are selected by audition for
a smaller vocal ensemble called the Chamber Singers. This
group specializes in the Renaissance and twentieth-century
vocal chamber music. The Chamber Singers appear with the
Concert Choir at most of its concerts but also maintain
their own seperate concert schedule, including performances
at college chapel services. Every few years, during short
term , members of the Chamber Singers produce a festive
Renaissance Madrigial Dinner with singing, dancing, acting, custumes,
lighting and a multi-course meal served in Elizabethan
style.
Conductor
The
conductor of the Choir's is Dr. Stephen Bolster, Professor
of Music, and Chairperson of the Music Department. Dr.
Bolster is a singer as well as a conductor and has both
performed as a baritone soloist and conducted choirs at
serveral colleges before coming to Berea in the fall of
1980.
If
