EKU String Orchestra performing free concert at Berea College Friday, April 24

| The Eastern Kentucky University String Orchestra, directed by Professor Jeremy Mulholland, will present its final concert of the 2008-2009 season on Friday, April 24th, in Berea. The concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the Gray Auditorium in the Presser Music Building on the campus of Berea College.
The EKU Strings comprise the string section of the EKU Symphony Orchestra, which was honored as a featured performer at the 2009 KMEA convention. The String Orchestra is made up of approximately 35 EKU music majors, minors, and non-majors. The April 24th performance will feature the Edward Elgar “Serenade for Strings”, op. 20, Puccini’s musical eulogy for a fallen friend, “I Crisantemi”, J.S. Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto #3″, and two elegiac melodies for strings, “The Wounded Heart” and “Last (final) Spring” by Edvard Grieg. |
