Berea College celebrates 134th annual “Mountain Day” Oct. 14

10-1-2009
Students will get a day off from their classes and campus jobs and experience a day of outdoor fun on Wednesday, Oct. 14 for Berea College Mountain Day, a college tradition since 1875.

This year’s activities include hayrides to and from the College forest on Hwy 21 East 10 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.; lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; games, music, booths and contests from10:30 through 2 p.m. and of course, hiking in the College forest all day.  All activities are open to the public.  Lunch is $5 for non-college students and employees.  In case of rain, events and lunch will take place in Seabury Center.

The celebration begins with another tradition on Tuesday, Oct. 13, when the Berea College Wind and Jazz Ensembles will present their 34nd annual Mountain Day Eve concert in Gray Auditorium.  The concert starts at 7:00 p.m.   and admission is free.
