Annual Art Show at Berea College Child Development Laboratory April 16
3-29-10
The creativity of preschool children will be on display during the Berea College Child Development Laboratory’s annual Art Show Friday, April 16, at the Laboratory’s facility at the Berea College Ecovillage on Jefferson Street. The exhibit takes place during the annual “Week of the Young Child,” which honors young children along with teachers and others who make a difference in children’s lives.
The show is scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m. and is open to all. Visitors are asked to sign in at the front desk before visiting the art exhibits throughout the upper and ground floors of the center. All of the art is by children who attend the center and who range in age from six weeks to six years. There will also be interactive art activities as a part of the event to encourage interaction among children and adults.
“We are excited to offer the Art Show each year because it helps us to connect with the community,” says Denise Scheler, the Lab’s associate director. “The Art Show also provides an excellent opportunity to highlight high quality childcare and education.”
Visitors are also welcome to view the exhibit the following week, April 19-23, with the assistance of a Child Development staff member.
