Remote Access

Hutchins Library provides online access to over 100 electronic databases and resources for the Berea College campus community. In addition, members of the Berea College community (students and employees) with a valid network ID and password can access these same resources from home or abroad using Berea's proxy server. Simply click on the 'off-campus' link (Electronic Resources page) or the Remote Access icon ( ) listed with the appropriate resource. Just go to one of the following pages to get started:

Electronic Resources (alphabetical listing of all electronic resources)
General
Arts and Humanities
Sciences
Social Sciences

If the connection via the proxy server fails, you can always go to the Kentucky Virtual Library website and select "Find Articles, Books, and More" to choose from one of their 40 electronic resources. While not all of Berea's resources are available using this method, it's good to remember that many of them can be accessed this way in a pinch. However, you will need to obtain the current login and password from the reference staff in order to use the Kentucky Virtual Library site (ext. 3109).
