Experience the Legacy Wall
Framing the east side of the picturesque John G. Fee Glade, the Legacy Wall features the names of more than 3,000 alumni and friends of Berea College, now departed, who included Berea in their estate plans.
Dale Carnegie once said “If you remember my name…you indicate that I have made an impression on you.” The individuals listed on the Legacy Wall have made an impression on Berea College and on the students Berea serves. The Legacy Wall is Berea’s way of saying thank you to these individuals.

Without their planned gifts, Berea would be unable to provide full-tuition scholarships to all its promising students.

Estate and other planned gifts are critical to Berea’s success. Since the 1920s, Berea has used all undesignated bequests to build its endowment, the returns from which are used to sustain Berea’s no-tuition policy.

While the individuals listed on the Legacy Wall are no longer with us, their legacy of support lives on in the aspirations and achievements of Berea students. Berea College is a living memorial to all those who have helped guarantee its future.

As tuition elsewhere continues to rise and access to higher education remains a hurdle for many, Berea stands as a beacon of hope for promising but low-income students.

New names will be added each year as bequests are received.
