Required Hours for Fall Term

Each student at Berea College is required to complete a minimum of ten hours a week and adhere to the work schedule as required by the position and arranged with the supervisor. Depending on the departmental contract signed, the total hours will accrue as indicated below *:

Students are expected to work through the end of the term, regardless of the number of hours accrued.  Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, including labor probation.

* The probationary cut-off is 140 hours, but disciplinary action- including labor probation- may be taken at any time for deficient performance in the Labor Program.  See the Tools guide for details.
   

Labor Breaks

Oct. 15 Mountain Day labor is dismissed unless students are essential to a department’s operation
Nov. 6 College-Wide Symposium 1/2 Day labor is dismissed at 12:00
Nov. 26-28 Thanksgiving Holidays labor is dismissed unless a special contract is signed
Dec. 8 Reading Period students work as usual
Dec. 9 Final Exams students work as usual
Dec. 13 - Jan. 4 Chrismas Holidays labor is dismissed unless a special contract is signed
