Department Overview
The
Appalachian College Association, Inc. (ACA) is a non-profit
organization composed of 33 member 4-year private colleges
and universities in the states of KY, Virginia, West
Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. The
primary efforts of the ACA have been directed toward
strengthening the faculty of these member institutions
by helping them to stay current in their subject matter
through graduate and postgraduate study and research. Also
by giving students research experiences that supplement
their basic academic courses and encouraging each institution
to reach out in service to its community and region
through a variety of programs.
