Labor Positions in Peacecraft
Peacecraft
is a non-profit, volunteer-staffed, third world craft shop located at 325A
Chestnut Street. As a project
of the Berea Interfaith Task Force for Peace, the shop is a practical expression
of our belief that peace is not possible without economic justice. It
is also the home of the office of the Task Force and serves as an education
and communication center.
The
student worker assists a part-time Coordinator in the management of the store. The
job requires the ability to work responsibly and independently, get along
with a variety of people, pay attention to detail and have a commitment to
worldwide peace and justice. Specific
tasks may include sales and PR, bookkeeping, processing incoming orders,
display and training volunteers.
As
a Peacecraft worker, you meet some interesting people, gain retailing experience
and sell unique handmade crafts that customers cannot find anywhere else.
