Tavern Dining
Boone Tavern Hotel
is one of the largest "families" of students
and full-time staff on the Berea College campus. One
hundred and twenty students work together to keep the
reputation of a historic hotel well known all over the
country. Patrons
come from miles away to enjoy the student staffed dining
room and hotel accommodations that are always provided
with enthusiasm and a smile. Upon
entering the pillared porch of the 1909 guest home of
President Frost, one will be met by the charm and elegance
of this delightful southern inn. Front
desk clerks efficiently register guests, and bellhops
are near to assist them to one of the 58 unique rooms. Fine
dining is available in the hotel and good service is
only one of the many features; good southern cooking
is always on the menu and one is guaranteed a fulfilling
meal with all the extras of home. Dining
room managers and cashiers are abundant to insure pleasure
and cleanliness for all.
The Tavern provides
for its students an interesting and for the most part
a fun place to work. Opportunity
for advancement is readily available for waiter/waitress
to Student Manager on Duty. Many
Hotel Management majors have sensibly chosen Boone Tavern
as their labor department with the hopes of a future
career in the Hospitality Industry, although about 20%
of the student staff is not business oriented yet choose
to stay and enjoy the atmosphere.
