Labor Positions in Music
The Music Department employs approximately 25 students in a variety of capacities, working largely with the musical organizations in the department or providing services to individuals studying applied music or involved with music classes. Except for the positions of janitor and monitor, all positions in the department require either specific musical skills or at least a general knowledge of music.
Positions include the following: accompanist for applied music lessons, assistant to the chairperson, recording technician, Disklavier technician, band and choral librarians, band and choir support staff members, computer music notation specialist, teaching assistants for music courses, music theory tutors and record library staff members.
