| Hardware Upgrades Drive bay modules, PC Cards, printers, scanners, and other peripherals
are allowed, but any type of hardware upgrade requiring the disassembly
of the computer is prohibited. You may purchase additional memory
and/or mini-PCI cards for the computer and request that we install
it for free.

Software Upgrades Berea
College is no longer affiliated with the collegebuys.org network.
Software media is obtained through the College
bookstore. We have site licenses with bookstore media available
for Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows Upgrades, and FileMaker
Pro. Students are encouraged to purchase media before graduation
so that software could be re-installed after graduation when campus
network and service resources are no longer available.
Please be advised that you should not upgrade your laptop to Windows
XP and/or Office XP because of compatibility issues with our network
and classroom instruction. We also recommend that you keep the
proven software configurations that come pre-installed on the laptop.
