When I log into Windows, I see a message that says “security log is full.” What do I need to do?

Problem:
The Security Logs are full, and needs to be cleared.

Solution:
Clear out the security logs.

Instructions:

1. Right-click on “My Computer”
2. Select “Manage”
3. Select “Event Viewer” from the panel on the right.
4. Right-click on each of the items to the right, and select “Clear all items”
5. A dialog box will appear asking you to save the log. Select “No”
6. Right-click on “Security” and select “Properties”
7. At the bottom of the next window select “Overwrite events as needed”
8. Select “Ok”
9. Close out of open windows.
