Answer:
There are two types of damage. The first is neglect and the second
is natural/accidental. Normal/Accidental damage includes normal
breaking of the computer or the breaking of the computer due
to no fault on your own. (Example – a battery module latch
breaks off, a key pops off, cd-rw stops working, and possibly
another student knocking the computer off your desk[if we can
verify the incident as being not your fault we may decide not
to charge in some incidents]). The second type of damage is Neglect.
Neglect occurs when you damage your computer due to carelessness.
(Example- spilling liquid in your laptop, stepping on your computer,
driving over your computer with your car [Don’t laugh.
It has happened!])
Damage fees are assessed only when the type of damage is determined
to be neglect. Normal/Accidental Damage is never charged regardless
of what is damaged. Damage fees vary depending on the part of
the computer that is damage. If the damage is the lcd screen,
the fee is $100. If the damage is anything other than the lcd
screen, the fee is $20. If the damage is so severe that it includes
the lcd screen and other components, the fee is $120.
