and critical to an informed electorate.” Collection includes cornerstone
documents, presidential papers, judicial opinions and laws. Sponsored by the
Government Printing Office, this project is ongoing.
Documenting the American South
“ Documenting the American South (DocSouth) is a digital publishing initiative
that provides Internet access to texts, images, and audio files related to southern
history, literature, and culture. Currently DocSouth includes ten thematic collections
of books, diaries, posters, artifacts, letters, oral history interviews, and
songs.”

University of North Carolina’s Davis Library webpage serves as an instruction
tool and a directory of primary source websites.
Google Books
Perhaps most useful to humanities researchers, this service from Google provides
access to full-text works that constitute primary sources from 19th and early
20th centuries.
Internet History Sourcebooks
This was one of the first online primary source collections. While you may
find some broken links, it is an excellent starting place for Humanities
and some Social Sciences.

Harvard University project provides access to approximately 500,000 digitized
