This series consists of material generated during the period approximately,
1966-, 1971.They are arranged as received, alphabetically by subject
and chronologically
within folders. Included at the end of the series are master correspondence and
memoranda files. During these years, the AVs separated from the Council of the
Southern Mountains, incorporating as the Appalachian Volunteers, Inc.Offices
were move to Bristol, Tennessee, in the fall of, 1966.In the fall of, 1968 offices
were moved to Prestonsburg, Kentucky as the result of federal funding cut-backs.
