In its Mission Statement Hutchins Library lists one of its central goals as:

To participate actively in the instruction of students in the location, use and evaluation of appropriate information.

To that end, the Reference Department of Hutchins Library is staffed every hour that the library is open. In addition to stopping by the reference desk for help, you may also reach us by phone or email.

In addition to the more informal interactions at the reference desk, the Reference and Instruction Librarians of Hutchins Library also provide hundreds of class sessions each year to help students learn to use the library and its resources, both print and digital, more effectively and efficiently.
