Good and Bad

Good and Bad

Hi, this is Justin Brock at the Red Bird Mission Grow Appalachia. I’ve been doing some tilling for some members this week so they can set out their late crops. I stumbled upon some interesting things while i was out visiting.

A couple of ladies from one of our community gardens at the senior apartments had second generation tomatoes. They trimmed the sucker limbs off of the spring tomatoes and planted them so they could have fall tomatoes. The tomatoes are growing great. The plants are full of new tomatoes.

At another members garden things where looking great his beans, tomatoes, water melons, and other plants. Then he told me about his corn, it had got blown down from one of the storms. The corn was about full so he left it down. He went out to gather the corn and it had been ate. All of his corn was destroyed.
