A Garden’s Bounty
I love the colors in this photograph, not to mention how much I love eating tomatoes and peppers. We have been blessed with a bountiful harvest so far and the abundance of rain has also meant a good harvest of weeds. My gardeners who have switched to the plastic mulch have had much less weed problems than those who chose to fight the weeds with their hoes. Our preserving classes, in conjunction, with the extension service have been very successful. Our last one was on pressure canning and we had about twenty people who went through the process of canning beans from breaking them up to putting them in jars and actually going through the pressure canning procedure. Next we have fiesta canning and everyone will get to make salsa. Enjoy this beautiful weather!
