Hometown: Totz, KY
- Realistically, I would not have been able to attend college had it not been for Berea because my family simply could not afford to pay for it. If I had gone somewhere else I would have graduated with tens of thousands of dollars in student loans. But now, I will graduate debt free! That is something not many college students can say and I am very thankful.
- After my first semester as a student worker in Berea’s payroll office I took an accounting class and loved it. I decided that if I was that excited about doing my accounting homework that was a sign that I should be an accounting major. I really enjoy it, even though it’s tough. I think I made a good decision.
- One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned at Berea is to not judge someone or something before you actually understand. Seeing the different religions, ethnicities, and cultures at Berea was really different from my hometown. It was good for me. It took some of those stereotypes that I had grown up with and shot them out the window. It taught me how important it is to look deeper.
