Now More Than Ever
The need for Berea College has never been greater. The economic recession and high cost of many colleges have made it nearly impossible for low-income students to obtain a higher education. Statistics show that such students have a less than 10 percent chance of graduating from college by the age of 24. Fortunately, Berea College continues to stand in the gap, serving low-income students from Appalachia, the nation, and the world by providing each with a full-tuition scholarship. Meet six fantastic seniors from Berea’s Class of 2011 who tell in their own words what Berea has meant to them.
