"Working with GEAR UP at the local level with Rockcastle County and with Berea College has been an eye-opening experience. It is nice to realize that parents can be involved in a program that is so global in nature and has such a lasting impact on our children achieving their goals to finish high school and go on to college. Decisions we help make in this program today can change the course for our children tomorrow.

It was an honor to be nominated by my local school and selected as a Parent Leadership National Award winner. I had the opportunity to represent our community while attending the annual GEAR UP convention in San Francisco, CA. The trip awakened me even further to the task at hand of bringing the programs that GEAR UP can provide to each community all across the nation."
