Doreen is a junior majoring in Agriculture and Natural Resources. She settled in Berea with her family in Fall, 2004, after journeying across the U.S. for six months. Doreen had been working on her Associate of Arts degree for several years while balancing work and family and was determined to continue her education. While attending school in Florida, Doreen was part of the Environmental Horticulture degree program, and president of the Environmental Society. She has been involved in community service projects such as beach clean-ups, mangrove restoration, environmental education, adopt-a-road, campus clean-ups, and youth social action. She intends to continue her education after earning her Bachelor's Degree and to ultimately work in natural resources management and education. Doreen's husband, Steve, is a licensed massage therapist and their three children are ages 5, 6, and 20.
