Members of Berea’s Speech and Debate Team compete in intercollegiate tournaments throughout the southeast and Midwest regions. During the 2007-2008 academic year, we competed in nine tournaments and won over 75 individual and team awards. Since 2003, Berea has hosted its own tournament, The John G. Fee Memorial, which offers both parliamentary debate and the standard AFA sanctioned individual events. Team membership is open to all students, regardless of previous experience, and they may receive credit for participating if they register for COM 103: Forensics Practicum.
