Communication Assistant (2)

Qualifications:
- Classes or experience in communications (writing, editing, photography, videography, marketing or design) desired
- Must demonstrate above average writing and editing skills
- Experience using layout and design software preferred
- Students with above average computer literacy and technology skills preferred
Duties:
- Write, proofread, and manage assigned projects
- Assist communications staff in managing multimedia projects (including editing photos and videos)
- Assist with generating content for and managing the department’s social media presence
- Research and generate age-appropriate content for college access programs
- Assist with organizing data for communication projects (business cards, name badges, and addresses for mailing)
- Create input content/alter design template based projects such as newsletters and event flyers
Department Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully complete the Berea College defensive driving program before fall of 2013
- Students who work with youth or youth programs must pass a background check
- Our positions work with agencies outside the college; we are looking for students who exhibit above-average maturity, professionalism and drive.

Promise Neighborhood Office Assistant Position (1)

Qualifications:
- Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype)
- Detailed, organized and self-directed
- Familiar with day-to-day operations of an office
- Able to use office equipment (phone, fax, mail, copier, laminator, etc.)
- Able to prioritize projects and effectively manage time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to exercise discretion in communication with other people regarding confidential information
Duties:
- Prepare materials for program events
- Assist with program record keeping
- Analyze and graph program data
- Event planning and preparation
- Maintain student information database
- Office errands (mail, pick up supplies)
- Light cleaning

- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-directed
- Able to use office equipment (phone, fax, copier, shredder, etc.)
- Able to manage time and projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to exercise discretion in communication with other people regarding confidential information
Duties:
- Record-keeping and filing
- Verify that files are complete and organized correctly
- Perform general office duties, such as shredding and copying
- Update Excel spreadsheets
- Help store and organize supplies
- Occasionally assist with events, such as helping with setup
- Occasionally pick up or deliver supplies or deliver/pick-up mail
