Resources

The EPG program has a number of resources related to the topics of entrepreneurship, leadership and public good. In time, we plan to make more of these resources available online. The following are currently available:

Social Entrepreneurship
A handbook on Social Entrepreneurship Teaching Resources is available for faculty interested in teaching in the field of Social Entrepreneurship. It includes academic programs, business plan competitions, case studies, organizations, entrepreneurs, publications, funding sources and courses.

Resources for Starting a Business
Our team has created a resource guide for individuals interested in starting their own business. The Business Start-Up: The Basics provides resources on small business assistance in Kentucky, web resources, recommended books, legal structure options and unconventional funding ways to start a business.

Resources of Entrepreneurship Education Supporters
For faculty interested in teaching entrepreneurship, a list of resources of Entrepreneurship Education Supporters is available. The resources include faculty resources, supporters of entrepreneurship education, business plan competitions, access to course syllabi and entrepreneurship education textbook information.

High School Entrepreneurship Resources
This list of resources for entrepreneurial training at the high school level was compiled by Donna Morgan from the Brushy Fork Leadership Institute and Debbi Brock from the Entrepreneurship for the Public Good program at Berea College. Feel free to disseminate copies to individuals interested in teaching entrepreneurship to high school students.

Entrepreneurship for the Public Good:  An Innovative Model to Produce Service Oriented Leaders for Appalachia and Beyond
The Entrepreneurship for the Public Good program is a model for making positive change in the Appalachian region through the two summer program where students learn how small businesses and nonprofit organizations employ responsible practices to provide jobs and build healthy communities.  The objective of the program is to teach students from a variety of disciplines about entrepreneurship and develop their leadership skills to equip them to make a positive impact on the Appalachian region...and beyond.
